Give them a map, not a lecture.

"Will my teenager actually do this?"

Most do, and the design is the reason. It's four short sessions rather than one long sitting, it saves their place, and it runs on their phone. Nothing about it feels like schoolwork — no timers, no right answers, nothing graded. About three out of four students who start finish all four sessions.

"How is this different from the free things online?"

Free tools hand back a list of jobs. This asks four different questions — who you are, what drives you, where you belong, and what it all means — and then does the part nobody else does, which is connecting the answers to each other. What comes out is a written report about your specific kid, not a category they got sorted into.

"Isn't this the same as YouScience?"

Then this either confirms it, which is worth something the week before applications open, or it surfaces the reason they picked it. Some students discover they chose a path to please someone. Better to learn that at seventeen than at twenty-four.

"Is this AI writing my kid a generic report?"

The conversation is AI-guided, and I'd rather say so plainly than hide it. It's the only way to ask a follow-up question that responds to what a student actually said instead of what a form expected. But the four sessions underneath it are established frameworks with real research behind them, and the report is built from your student's own words. If two students take it, the two reports look nothing alike.

"When should we do this?"

The summer before senior year is the sweet spot — early enough to shape applications, late enough that they'll take it seriously. Junior spring works well too. Once applications are in, it's a harder conversation.
